By installing the Owlmet browser extension or using the Owlmet website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use our services.
Owlmet is a browser extension focused entirely on web browsing protection. Its sole purpose is to keep you safe online. It provides:
Owlmet does not collect, sell, or share your browsing data. URL checking happens locally on your device. In rare cases where a partial match is found against a known threat, an anonymous hash prefix (not the URL itself) may be sent to Google for confirmation. Your privacy is not our business model. Protection is.
Owlmet is a security tool, not a guarantee. While we work to detect as many threats as possible, no security software can catch everything. Owlmet is provided as an additional layer of protection alongside your own good judgment and other security tools.
Owlmet offers a free plan with core protection features. Premium features may be offered in the future through a paid plan. We will clearly communicate any pricing before you are charged.
Creating an account is optional. If you create one, you are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. You can use email/password or Google sign-in.
You agree not to:
Owlmet, including its code, design, logo, and name, is owned by Owlmet. You are granted a personal, non-transferable license to use the extension as intended.
Owlmet is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any damages resulting from the use or inability to use the extension, including but not limited to data loss, security breaches, or system damage. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months before the claim, or $100 (USD), whichever is greater.
You can stop using Owlmet at any time by uninstalling the extension and deleting your account. Except in cases of serious or illegal misuse, we will give you reasonable notice and an opportunity to fix the issue before suspending or terminating your account.
These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of Israel, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of Owlmet shall be resolved exclusively in the competent courts of Tel Aviv, Israel. Nothing in this clause prevents you from bringing a claim in the courts of your country of residence if required by applicable consumer protection law.
We may update these terms from time to time. For material changes, we will notify account holders by email at least 30 days before the changes take effect. If you do not agree with the updated terms, you may delete your account and stop using the extension before the effective date. Changes will also be posted on this page with an updated date.
